Jas Chen.
A product designer who connects visual craft with how things work.
I work across enterprise products and prediction markets, from early ideas to interfaces, prototypes and code.
Raised in Taiwan. Nine years in New York.
Now based in Portland, Oregon.
From print
to product.
I still care about the smallest visual detail. Now I also build the systems behind it.
Before product design, I spent about six years in fashion, designing textiles, prints and accessories. That background still shapes how I think about colour, composition and craft.
Today, that attention to detail extends to product decisions, interaction design and the systems behind the interface. I bring design and implementation closer together through working prototypes and coded design systems.

Senior User Experience DesignerAonAug 2022 – Present
I design enterprise products across commercial risk, analytics and decision support, including Aon Meridian, Risk Analyzer and Certificate Center. Working with product managers, engineers and domain experts, I turn research and complex requirements into workflows, prototypes and data-rich interfaces. I also develop AI-assisted design-to-code workflows, reusable design guidance and Figma component libraries, supporting adoption through workshops and coaching.
Lead Product Designer & ConsultantOpinion Labs2021 – Present
As the founding team’s sole product designer, I work across Opinion Labs’ products, including prediction markets, AI-powered information experiences and brokerage.
My work covers product UX/UI, visual direction, prototyping and the coded design system that I build and maintain. Working directly with founders and engineers, I take ideas from early concepts into functional interfaces, often contributing code and refining interactions directly in the repository.

Outside
of work.
Foggy mountains, gloomy coastlines, and forests that feel a little eerie.
I enjoy hiking, playing tennis, and spending probably too much time looking at outdoor gear. Horror movies are another favourite, especially ones with good atmosphere.
At home, I have three cats with very different personalities, all convinced they’re the one in charge.
